Douglas Fir Domestic Lumber
Douglas fir wood is usually a light brown color with a hint of red and or yellow and darker growth rings. The grain is typically straight and plain and is considered one of the hardest and heaviest softwoods. DF heartwood is known to be moderately durable in regard to decay, but is susceptible to insect attack.
Origin: Western North America.
Common uses: Construction, cabinetry and flooring.
