Black Walnut Lumber (Domestic Lumber): This is a domestic wood that offers traditional versatility. Walnut black rustic mostly straight grained. At times but without reason, wavy or curly grain does show. It is furniture standard. Typically easy to work provided the grain is straight and regular. Planer tearout can sometimes be a problem when surfacing pieces with irregular or figured grain. Black Walnut has a faint, mild odor when being worked.
