White Oak, Boule

White Oak is strong, beautiful, rot-resistant, easy to work with, and economical, representing a great value to woodworkers. It’s no wonder that wood is so often used in cabinet and furniture making. White oak varies in color from light tan to pale yellow-brown with a pinkish tinge. It is similar to European oak. It is straight-grained with characteristic silver grain in quartersawn wood and a medium to coarse texture. White Oak is somewhat more figured than Red Oak due to longer rays. Suitable for furniture, cabinetry, joinery, heavy construction, parquet and strip flooring, ladder rungs, plywood, veneers, paneling, railroad ties, shakes, and shingles.
