PERUVIAN WALNUT

Peruvian Walnut Lumber (Imported Woods) is characterized by its deep chocolate brown heartwood, often with a purplish tint. Unlike temperate walnut species, it may contain streaks of lighter-colored wood, which can lead to significant waste. While curl grain figuring is less common in Peruvian walnut, it typically has a straight grain and a medium to coarse texture with a natural luster. Despite its easy workability, planer tearout can be an issue when surfacing pieces with irregular grain. Peruvian Walnut Lumber glues, stains, and finishes well and is commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, musical instruments, and interior trim.
