Prefinished cherry plywood features a genuine cherry veneer that has been professionally sealed and protected at the factory with a durable clear coat. This process eliminates the lengthy steps of sanding and finishing, ensuring a consistent, flawless finish superior to most site-applied alternatives. • Janka Hardness Rating: Cherry (American Black Cherry veneer) has an average rating of 950 lbf. This moderate density is ideal for stability in casework and furniture components.
  
  
• Color/Appearance: Heartwood starts pinkish-brown and darkens significantly to a rich reddish-brown or mahogany color under the clear coat, accelerating the beautiful aging process cherry is known for. The clear coat provides guaranteed finish consistency.
  
  
• Grain/Texture: Fine, uniform texture with a straight grain and a satiny luster. The coating seals the surface, which contains the small, natural gum pockets often present in cherry.
